Subject: Re: [TeXmacs]
installation problem of win texmacs
I had hit the same
problem a while back and for me the solution mentioned below worked:
>> Quote from an old mail<<
I'm a newbie to TexMacs, but, I encountered the same problem. This happend
because I
installed MikTex after installing TexMacs. The order of installation should be
to first install
MikTex first and then install TexMacs (atleast that is what worked for me).
If you already have installed TexMacs, try removing it and please remember to
remove the
".Texmacs" directory under your home folder. Removal of .Texmacs
directory is very
critical. After that, install MikTex and reinstall Texmacs. Hopefully it should
work.

Hi Richard
Thanks for sending me to share this problem. But I did make it
working on my desktop machine, but not work again on my laptop. So I suggest we
both should try to install cgywin as well.

problem of win texmacs

Hi Folks,
I am trying to install Texmacs windows version on my new laptop now.
but can not get it work though it works on my desktop.
Bascially I first download complete Miktex and install them in the
c:\texfm folder, then I install wintexmacs by default.
It gave the notice as "No tex
system found" when I start the
wintexmacs. Then the default of some styles such as title, chapter not
work correctly now.
I guess the problem is due to the path search when running the
wintexmacs. But system path does include the c:\texfm\bin\miktex, but
it seems that wintexmacs can not find the correct Miktex folder.
Can anybody tell me what is wrong of my setting?
It will be very kind of receiving the advice on this issue making me
start up immediately.
Cheers
Jack
