I think that it's pretty reasonable the position of the Ubuntu packagers. In
http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/rpm.en.html, it is said that the last
stable version is 1.0.6, which is 18 months old. Maybe it's time to stabilise
the newest version of TeXmacs.
