Hi,

since i don't know anything about cvs, and i apologize if you think the
question is not on the right place, but here it comes : i'd like to test
the last features in the cvs version of texmacs without "loosing" the
texmacs .deb package i have on my system.

Is it possible to have a cvs version AND the "official" .deb version
(unstable or ubuntu) ?
If yes, how all the plugins do behave with the cvs version ?
And the last question : if you say i an have two different versions of
Texmacs, how shall i do to install the cvs version (with the plugins if
possible) ?

Just download the cvs in one directory, do :
./configure --prefix=[INSTALL-DIR]
./make
./make install

You dont need to be root to do it. Then simply do :
/home/myself> [INSTALL-DIR]/bin/texmacs

To run you new TeXmacs.

As far as the plugins are concerned, everything is
in ~/.TeXmacs, thus you only need to switch between
different ~/.TeXmacs in order to switch between different
plugin sets.

Best, Henri
