Are the labels still visible when you export to pdf? If so, perhaps it
might help to make the labels invisible first, by hitting <return>, with
the cursor inside the label. You can detect an invisible label by
looking at the message in the bottom right-hand corner of the TeXmacs
window. It will say, e.g., "equation label: truc", when the cursor is
immediately after the invisible label. You can make an invisible label
visible again by hitting <delete backwards>, when the cursor is
positioned immediately after it. Apparently this deletes the <return>
that makes the label invisible. To give the equation a number so that a
reference to it displays that number rather than "?", you have to hit
<shift> + <alt> + <*>, with the cursor somewhere in the equation. You
make a reference display the equation number, rather than, e.g.,
<reference|truc>, by hitting <return>, with the cursor inside the
reference. You can then change the reference back to the
<reference|truc> form, by hitting <delete backwards>, with the cursor
positioned immediately after the reference.
