Hello,

does anyone have a working installation of Texmacs under Cygwin/Windows 7? I've been trying the last hours to get it running:

- The Cygtexmacs.zip package results in

----
mount: /usr/bin: Permission denied
mount: /usr/lib: Permission denied
mount: /: Permission denied
mount: /cygdrive: Permission denied
H:\_CygTeXmacs\tmp\.X11-unix\X0

startxwin.bat - Starting on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003

when I try to run starttexmacs.bat.

- I installed the current stable version Cygwin 1.5 and Texmacs as a package. Then cygwin.bat and

----
$ XWin -multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error
$ texmacs &
[1] 1420
$ TeXmacs] With linked TrueType support
----

Now Texmacs runs, but I cannot open any files on /cygdrive. I can see the base directories in /cygdrive; some of the directories behave normally but in most of them the box on the left side of the "open file" dialog is completely empty (not even ".."). Sometimes I get these:

----
TeXmacs] couldn't concretize tuple (none)
----

cd /cygdrive; ls -la returns

$ cd /cygdrive

As one would suspect, Texmacs does not show any files or subdirectories in /cygdrive/c; in /cygdrive/d it does show some folders.

- Cygwin 1.7 beta shows the same behavior. Additionally I got some "--output-dir switch not supported" messages (I don't remember the exact wording) during the first run which I couldn't reproduce afterwards.

This kind of frightens me, as I use Texmacs for all my daily work, and just upgraded to Windows 7. Is there anyone with a working installation?

Best Regards,
Jan
