seem no longer to be there.

I got a solution:
as root:

rpm -ivh
http://www.texmacs.org/Download/ftp/tmftp/redhat/TeXmacs-1.0.7.16-1.i386.rpm


generates a lot of warnings
but the installed texmacs works
(even the message
TeXmacs] Warning: locale could not be set
TeXmacs] With linked TrueType support
seems to be no problem
)
