Hi Frank,
I am not exactly sure what you mean by subsequent parentheses, but I like the current spacing. I think it is a matter of taste. 
You can fine-tune the positioning of the indices using the Format > Adjust submenu.

I find that c is way too close to the Gamma script. If I have a subsequent parenthesis, then the spacing looks awkward.
