Dear Vincent,

The answer of Giovanni is technically correct and I have frequently the same
need. Maybe a better solution is however to define a shortcut for the "Export
to PDF..." menu item. The functionality you require in indeed already
implemented there, since by default it will prompt you to save the file by
giving it a sensible default name (and I think in the current directory).

This will require you to type the shortcut and then confirm the name with an
enter. I think it is safer in these situations where we do not operate in
temporary directories to get a confirmation from the user.
