Yes, the same happens with me. I just looked into the emacs macros
to see how it is done there. It seems that it is necessary to change
the source code of texmacs to make it work with certain languages.
Catalanian, russian and portuguise might have the same the problem.
I'll send a patch to the texmacs-dev list.
