I work with a Maple 8 version, maybe i could help with some testing, or even some coding if i manage to understand what is involved :), however, what exactly does this OpenMaple library, and its available for the version 8?

Yes: that is what I was going to mention.

Not our university though, and I will certainly not push them to
invest in proprietary software. In particular, I will have no
possibility for testing interfaces with Maple 9.
