I wasn't actually asking how to syntactically edit the file - I don't 
know the semantics of the (sheme?-)entries...

My actual problem is that my document shows ugly umlauts in the print, 
no matter whether I print from TeXmacs or export to ps or export to pdf.
The printed font seems to be postscript 1, but the umlauts seem to be 
level 3.

So is this a problem of ttf or type1 or something else?
