TeXmacs fails to open a font

I recently downloaded TexMacs (version 1.0.3.3), and so far it looks great!
However, I have a problem. When I try to add a section (using the menu
option Text/Section/Section), I get the following messages:

TeXmacs] loading ecbx14 at 600dpi
TeXmacs] loading cmr14 at 600dpi
TeXmacs] font cmr14 at 600 dpi not found
TeXmacs] loading cmr14 at 600dpi instead


I could not open cmr14@600

Fatal error: Tex seems not to be initialized properly in 'load_tex'
See file : load_tex.cpp

The program then dies.

I first tried version 1.0.3.2, and after seeing an earlier message about
a problem similar to this, I thought it might be fixed in 1.0.3.3, but
apparently not.

I am running Red Hat Enterprise WS 3.0, if that matters.

Any suggestions?
