Struts in math mode?

I want to create an expression like:

$\int f(x) dx \right]_{a}^{b}$

... where the ] is a little larger than the \int symbol, to express the
evaluation of a definite integral. Is there a way to make it size that
big? Right now it shrinks to the size of the \int sign. If I highlight
the ] and use [Mathematics | Size Tag | Very Large] I get the size I
want, but the sub and super scripts don't work the way I want. The
letter is either too large, or not positioned right.

Can I just make a strut that will make the expression logically taller
so that the \right] will be that tall? If so, then how?
