Joris,

This is what I have in a small test document. My understanding from TeX
is that the section symbol "\S" should be found in the cmsy10 font.
What does the code \237 mean? When TeXmacs turns it into a reference
to a character of a font, what font is that supposed to be? Maybe I don't
have that font?

Kostas

When I type \S in TeXmacs, or the equivalent "S-F5 p", I see the paragraph

When I make a small test document containing a couple of characters and \S,
and I then
export it in Postscript, I see that only the cmr10 font is used. The
character made by
\S is in the cmsy10 font, so something appears to be wrong.

This seems to be a problem with your font installation.
Things work fine for me.
