Hey everyone. The gentoo distribution has been lagging behind texmacs releases for a while, So here's a package that can update you to the latest. attached is the file, and here's what you do:

untar gentoo-texmacs.tgz in /usr/local by the command:

   cd /usr/local; tar -xvzf {wherever you put the file}/gentoo-texmacs.tgz

then to /etc/make.conf add the following line:

   PORTDIR_OVERLAY=/usr/local/portage

then "etcat -v texmacs" should show the new version in the listing.

(you may have to unmask it in /etc/portage/package.mask)

then "emerge texmacs" like usual.
