It would be most awesome if TeXmacs had the ability to work with a
drawing pad or touch-screen and stylus so that one could do math "by
hand" more like you do with a pencil and paper, rather than via a
keyboard.

It's not a new idea:

@TechReport{Minsky63:MathScopePartI,
author = {Marvin Minsky},
title = {MATHSCOPE Part I: A Proposal for a Mathematical
Manipulation-Display System},
institution = {MIT},
year = 1963,
month = {Nov},
url =
{ftp://publications.ai.mit.edu/ai-publications/pdf/AIM-061.pdf},
note = {MIT AIM-61},
annote = {This is a scanned copy of Prof. Marvin Minsky's MIT AI Memo
61, typewritten in
1963. It is very difficult to make out much of it, due to
poor quality
scanning. \citep*[See][]{Minsky03:MathsMitAi} It discusses
a very early computer
algebra system with a user interface that displayed math
notation on an
oscilloscope, and allowed selection and limited manipulation
of expressions using
a light pen.}
}

I really had an extremely hard time 8-( to read it, so I cannot
tell you right now what I think. There are 3 or 4 pages that are
completely blank, & too bad, these ones are among the main ones !

I will perhaps look at it later again, and after several
careful (that's the appropriate word !) readings, I will
perhaps be able to come with some ideas to add in this
thread...
