Hello,
I wish to suggest that upon importation from html TeXmacs offers the
possibility of importing the "alt" attribute of an image as LaTeX.
This would allow to have a decent printed version of the Wikipedia pages
with mathematical content, and can be done within the TeXmacs community.
On the other hand, TeXmacs is very close to becoming the canonical
way(*) to have a HTML document professionally typeset in no time, and
maybe getting the Wikipedia to pipeline their HTML pages through TeXmacs
in order to offer pdf versions of the pages would enhance the visibility
of TeXmacs for millions of users.
Is there somebody in this list who participates in the Wikimedia project
and can lobby towards this target, or just tell us if they have enough
computing power to offer pdf's on the fly?
'Alvaro.
* try File->Load and then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coherent_state
for an example.
