I would recommend two "stacks" of height 3 seperated by \left|:
<TeXmacs|1.0.3.7>
<style|generic>
<\body>
<\equation*>
\;
<stack|<tformat|<table|<row|<cell|a>>|<row|<cell|>>|<row|<cell|b>>>>><left|\|><stack|<tformat|<table|<row|<cell|b>>|<row|<cell|->>|<row|<cell|q>>>>>
</equation*>
</body>
<\initial>
<\collection>
<associate|language|english>
<associate|page-bot|30mm>
<associate|page-even|30mm>
<associate|page-odd|30mm>
<associate|page-reduce-bot|15mm>
<associate|page-reduce-left|25mm>
<associate|page-reduce-right|25mm>
<associate|page-reduce-top|15mm>
<associate|page-right|30mm>
<associate|page-top|30mm>
<associate|page-type|a4>
<associate|par-width|150mm>
<associate|preamble|false>
<associate|sfactor|4>
</collection>
</initial>

Hello Richarch,
a | bI'm not familar with this notation, but could'nt you do it with a table in math mode?

r | q
I just tried the following way:
1. ALT-SHIFT-$ (for math mode)
2. M-t-N-t to create a table
3. ALT-Cursordown, ALT-Cursorright to make 2 Rows and 2 Columns
4. go to upper right cell M-t-b-l (create border left) enter for example 0.1em
5. also in the upper left cell M-t-b-b (create bordr bottom) enter als 0.1em
6. go to lower right cell
7. M-t-b-l (create border left) 0.1em
Then you got a table looking like the above example.
As further improvmemnt you can switch to the sourcecode view and create
a macro from the code. You can try this macro if it fit your needs:
<assign|euklid|
<macro|a|b|r|q|
<tabular*|
<tformat|
<cwith|2|2|2|2|cell-lborder|0.1em>|
<cwith|1|1|2|2|cell-lborder|0.1em>|
<cwith|1|1|2|2|cell-bborder|0.05em>|
<table|<row|<cell|<arg|a>>|<cell|<arg|b>>>|<row|<cell|<arg|r>>|<cell|<arg|q>>>>>>>>
You can enter it with \euklid and then write the values for a,b,r,q
