locate uses a database of all files in the system which is updated by the
command updatedb. Usually, it is run by cron every night. If it was not
run after adding some files (after installing TeXmacs, for example),
locate will not find these files. You can either wait until the next day
(thyen updatedb will be run by cron), or run it by hand, as root. After
that, locate will show the actual information.
