Using Debian Etch, texmacs 1.0.6.

Let's say I use Insert->Table->Plain block and create a 2 row and 1 column
table. Now in the 1x1 cell, I do
Table -> Special cell properties -> Hyphenation -> Multi-paragraph
and then enter

line1
line2

Now how if select these two lines and go to 2x1 cell and paste it, then
nothing happens. However if I do
Table -> Special cell properties -> Hyphenation -> Multi-paragraph
in the 2x1 cell, then the pasting works. Doing this everytime is very time
consuming. Is there any way to automatically copy the formatting of the cell?

I heard the table environment has improved significantly in the latest
versions. However, I am not using the latest versions due to the following
bugs
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=393481
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=396802

Does upgrading to the latest versions solve this issue?

thanks
raju
