I found a solution by myself:
I placed the labels inside the captions of the tables/figures.
This works as long as you don't have a list of figures/tables in your
document.
Inserting these lists leads to double entries for all the labels defined
since the captions are listed
A better and working way is to place the label definitions inside the body of
the figure/table context. Now everything works fine.
