"Based on Qt" would be excessive. In "Qtexmacs" (non-official name ;-),
the GUI toolkit has been reimplemented on top on Qt. The rest is non-Qt.

By the way, it's not the first time it happens, some months ago,
the first version of an Aqua port of the GUI has been released
by Massimo.

In fact, last August/September, we concluded that it was still
possible, but increasingly difficult to compete with modern GUI
toolkits.

Thus we defined an API for the widgets, then severed the GUI
code from the rest of the TeXmacs codebase, in order to pave
the way for the various GUI port developments we are now musing
around.
