i am following the steps here

i have still installed giac/xcas on my mac os X Leopard

now i am on step 2

"Installer professor.sty comme expliqué sur le site Les Maths Libres."

I translate

"install professor.sty as indicated on web site....."

ok i go there and on this web site i read:

Deuxième pré-requis : shell-escape

il faut être en mode shell-escape pour autoriser les sorties de la compilationtex.

Pour emacs, on rajoute en fin de fichier les lignes :


%%% Local variables:
%%% mode: LaTeX
%%% LaTeX-command: "latex -shell-escape"
%%% TeX-master: t
%%% End:


Pour les autres éditeurs, il faut modifier la commande de compilation.

Sinon, on peut de façon radicale et dangereuse modifier le fichier texmf.cnfpour que le mode soit automatisé en modifiant la ligne suivante :


shell-escape t ;


Sur TeXnicCenter, on utilise la fenêtre suivante pour valider le mode shell-escape :

Sur TeXmaker , on utilisera :


latex -enable-write18 --shell-escape -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex
pdflatex  -shell-escape -src -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex

I confess i do not understand anything to this....

why so many complicated things to do... i feel lost :-)

 tableauVariation.mp de Frédéric Mazoit pour la construction des tableaux de variations (pro-tablor). 
 le répertoire dlf_mp . 
 le paquet geometriesyr16 de Christophe Poulain (pro-geometrie).

But where can i find all these files ???

 On obtient un répertoire professor/ à placer dans sontexmf/tex/latex/. 
 On place les fichiers mp dans son texmf/metapost/. 
 On lance texhash.

So: 1) dezip the file professor.zip OK

2) get a folder professor/ that you put in texmf/tex/latex

i think i can do that

3) launch texhash:  what's that ???????

i start feeling very afraid, as if i had to climb up the kilimandjaro...

But, with linux, you just have to download the packages, install them where you want to ; it works.

So, yes you should install the whole stuff.
