FreeBSD has an official ports tree. The website freshports.org shows the 
whole 
tree. You can check there that FreeBSD has texmacs 1.0.7.1. 


You can build texmacs from source in FreeBSD:
$ cd /usr/ports/editors/texmacs
$ make install clean

Or you can install binary package:
$ pkg_add -r texmacs 


I am using texmacs in FreeBSD for many years without any troubles.
