I've come across some brittle-ties of texmacs also shared by lyx, which is the requirement to preserve trailing white-space - for example:
It's a dreadful command, but no worse than windows requires.\
Because the original document line as a trailing space after the dot.
Texmacs uses the backslash to confirm the importance but sadly the space still trails - and some code management tools may eagerly trim white space and/or warn excessively about it.
It is quite destructive for the space to vanish and the slash to remain.
Is it planned for .tmml to be the native format any time soon?
