It also seems that you can't insert a "$" at the end of the maxima input line any more: TeXmacs goes into math mode.
Do you see that?

Perhaps this is connected with the new semantics for math
mode? Or the maxima plugin has changed?
The maxima plugin has not changed. This must be some change
in TeXmacs.
