Hello all, this is about TeXmacs / Maxima interaction, following a
recent thread on this list.

Working under Mac OS X (10.5.8 or 10.6.7) with the Qt version of
TeXmacs (TeXmacs.app) and with Maxima installed in the form of
Maxima.app, how can one tell TeXmacs where to find maxima?

In this setup, the maxima executable is
/Applications/Maxima.app/Contents/Resources/maxima/bin/maxima
so hopefully it would be enough to add
/Applications/Maxima.app/Contents/Resources/maxima/bin/
to the PATH.

Where can one set the PATH so that it will be known to TeXmacs?
TeXmacs.app isn't affected by changes in the user's ".bash_profile".

I suppose TeXmacs's mechanism for locating maxima has to do with the script
/Applications/TeXmacs.app/Contents/Resources/share/TeXmacs/plugins/maxima/bin/maxima_detect
which seems to be trying to locate maxima_toc.html.
In this setup, the file maxima_toc.html is at
/Applications/Maxima.app/Contents/Resources/maxima/share/maxima/5.24.0/doc/html/maxima_toc.html

How to put all these pieces of the puzzle together?

Best,
Samuel
