Yesterday I was commenting on my attempts to produce a verbatim tag that 
was smaller when it had a <document> as the argument. I managed to do it.

It seems like the magic that detects the block/inline-ness of a macro 
makes it's mind up when it sees an "if", so I avoided it like this, 
below; and now my inline verbatim is normal, but block verbatim is smaller!

The trick is to make the rendering macro's name be calculated from 
get-label of the argument, and make sure that there is a default 
rendering macro for all get-label values but then override it for 
"document".
