I think that for things like that, you should create an abstraction, for the structural markup, that expands to whatever makes it look right in print. \RiemannTensor{args, ...} So that way, your source documents don't need to be edited in a zillion places in case something changes, or if you find a better way to typeset it. You would only need to change the definition of the macro.
Does TeXmacs --> LaTeX conversion support that in any way, so that you could have one output from it for LaTeX and another expansion for TeXmacs?
