Is this a regression, meaning it used to work in a previous version but it doesn't work now?

I don't know. It is the first time I tried to use true type fonts.
It is not working in 1.0.7.14 either.
 

You may want to deleting the whole cache using "rm ~/.TeXmacs/system/cache/*".

It doesn't help.
