I could compile texmacs but it doesn't run. I get a seg fault. I did compile it to a /home/repertory, made an export PATH but without success. Is it OK this way ?

The irony is : i did compile texmacs under another PC who broke 2 weeks ago. I lost a lot of time and lost my working compiled version of texmacs.

I have these packages installed:

qt4-designer install

qt4-dev-tools install

qt4-doc install

qt4-linguist-tools install

qt4-qmake install

You should try :
sudo apt-get build-dep texmacs
./configure --prefix=/usr
make -j (x)
sudo make install
