It is quite a while that I faced this problem. At the time I just downgraded to 1.0.7.10. Now, I'm using Arch linux and few days ago I upgraded my system, and it automatically upgraded my texmacs to 1.0.7.16 and surprise surprise I had the same problem in a totally different enviornment even worst, the pdf image quality was also bad. (I m surprised that not many people have this problem).

Anyway, I downloaded the master branch from gitorious and built it from scratch and now the problem is gone.

When I run texmacs -v I get 1.0.7.17. I don't know if it is explicitly solved in the new release or it was just building it on my system that fixed it.

Best,
Syd
