Hello,

I need to work on a number of documents I created several years ago. The last
time I edited them it was on 2010. These documents have a mixture of figures,
most of them are .eps created using Inkscape and .fig created using the old
and reliable xfig.

It seems that there are a lot of problems with .fig figures (images not
showing, size changes). I'm using TeXmacs 1.0.7.19 for Mac. My machine runs
Mac OS 10.8.3. I have a few questions:

a) Older versions of TeXmacs have the same problem? I could work with an
older version. I tried to install TeXmacs using Fink but it seems that there
is a problem and it doesn't install.

b) For years I used the pre-QT version and one useful thing was reading the
messages on the console. Sometimes your learnt what the problem was (maybe
something was missing…). Is there a console or something where I could look
for that information? I looked for it in the Console.app, but nothing seems
to be there.

c) Has the Linux version the same problems with .fig files? I'm ready to
create a virtual machine, install Ubuntu and use that until a new version is
released.
