yes I fear it. It was Mr poulain who gave the clue but I can't find it anymore in the mailing list.
I changed defun to setq (only the word defun) but I guess you must verify if you got lisp library because sometimes that doesn't work for me on a 61 bits. It 's quite a tricky thing ;)

weeks ago the clue was given to work on linux: in pluging lisp texmacs-maxima.lisp line 27 change defun by setq
Try if it works on windows

It does not.
Can you be more specific as to which line you mean. Line number 27 in my texmacs-maxima.lisp file reads
(defun tex-stripdollar (x)

Line numbering might be different from the linux version?
