Miguel,
I found the Texmacs appdata folder in "c:\users\myusername\appdata\roaming\texmacs". I deleted all the files and folders there, reinstalled TeXMacs and low and behold I am back up and running. Thank you so much for your help.
Mike

Indeed. This means that .TeXmacs/texts/scratch is not empty. Try searching for no_name_6.tm. The file *has* to be somewhere! According to this code in init_main_paths():get_env_path ("TEXMACS_HOME_PATH", get_env ("APPDATA") * "/TeXmacs"))the files should be wherever that appdata is. Try opening Explorer and typing %appdata%.If you find the folder, please save and send its contents to us for testing.Best,--
Miguel de Benito.
