Hi,

I've started with Texmacs a couple of months before you
so maybe i can give you some suggestions;)

0) I'm working mostly with Linux (in a virtual machine)
but sometimes is also use Texmacs in OSX.
(when i'm too lazy to run the VM;))

1) Crashes. It is true, the programs crashes, i loose control
usually 1 times every of 2 hour of work, or less. But, it is a great program
so i will not give up, I have the same experience with
PDFAnnotator on the Surface3.

2) Images. Don't load PDF files, always convert to PNG.
... or you will have 100% cpu and program stuck.

3) autosave. I remember i tried to remove AutoSave at
the beginning. don't do that, keep autosave on, or you will
see other unexplicables 100% load & crashes.

4) print. in OSX i never changed font, i'm using default
stuff, out of the box. To print, i export to PDF and then print
the pdf, it works well.

bye
Nicola

Also, could this font problem be related to http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?43704 ?

Hi,

Have you tried to run texmacs with the --debug option in the console?
You might get information on the crashes and maybe the fonts.

The font problem is that characters written with TeXMacs fonts are not printable. If I force them to be Times Roman or any other font which is on the font book they become printable
It seems that TeXMacs dos not embed the fonts in the .ps file so they are not transferred to the printed and thus printed as “Gibberish”

I hope someone in the community will be able to help.

Are you using the latest version, or at least a recent version?

Hi,
I’m new to TeXMacs - a wonderful tool, really. After years of LaTeX and LyX it is really refreshing
However I encounter several problems
1. Multiple crashes - so many times so it becomes almost impossible to work with. Heavy imported images - crash, triple mouse clisk - crash, etc.
2. Hangs (lovelocks???)- sometimes TeXMacs consumes 100% cpu for no apparent reason. Checking  the disk activity point only on CPU activity (no I/O is involved)
3. Fonts - I cannot print when TeXMacs font are used.
I’m using the latest stable build.
I wonder if I could get some help on these issues
best
