I usually compile OK, even since last week - and hence have no experience with that error :-(

I'm on a debian based system so i first do:

sudo apt-get build-dep texmacs

to install dependency packages (according to the debian of texmacs)

and then I build from soucre

./configure && make

Yes, until 5th of April, I could compile.
