in fact, I got the same problem with libiconv infinite loop as it was told in another mail. I installed libiconv but still have the problem :

checking for library containing dlopen... no
checking for library containing dld_link... no
checking for library containing shl_load... no
configure: warning: dynamic linking using dlopen will not work
checking iconv.h usability... yes
checking iconv.h presence... yes
checking for iconv.h... yes
checking iconv linking... no
configure: warning, failed to link with iconv

Unless you use dynamically linked plugins, you probably can run it without that feature.
