Hi Vivek,
this is exactly what the labels are intended for. You need to number the
equation using the 'IV' button in the toolbar, then insert a label while
inside the equation using Insert > Link > Label… , pick an equation label and
press enter. Next, you can refer to your equation number dynamically using
Insert > Link > Reference…
