Is there a more efficient/reasonable way to obtain the same result. My

I would use:
<assign|indep|<macro|<math-relation|<superpose|\<bot\>|<move|\<bot\>|0.3ex|>>>>>
The 'math-relation' macro also takes care of correct spacing.
We could also add the symbol to the list of officially supported symbols,
but that requires a bit more work; I can explain another day on texmacs-dev.
