Hi, all.

Inspired by this, I wonder whether we have plans to maintain a wiki on the official site of TeXmacs including more practical examples to complement the reference manual (even programmers don't consult frequently the reference manuals of programming languages).

Best wishes,

Frank

In general you find many useful informations in the reference manual.
I discovered the existence of pageref in the "TeXmacs primitives" section.

Ok, my previous suggestion does not work. However the following works:

Add a label with name "page:last-page" (for example) at the end of your
document

then in the footers put

<page-number>/<pageref|page:last-page>

and update your document. This do the trick. I attach an example document.

I do not think you have a variable for the total number of pages.
If you want to hack it by hand you can just replace that by

<page-number>/5

otherwise you could try to put there the following:
<page-number>/<last-page><assign|temp-last-page|<page-number>>

and then in the preamble of the document put

<assign|last-page|<temp-last-page>>

and hope that variables survive "updating the document". :)

Dear Texmacs users,

I have to hand out an article for school (prépa), and the teacher requires us
to write page numbers out of the total number of pages.

My doc style of reference is "tmarticle".
When I click on "edit style", I think the macro responsible for page numbers is in
"Header", <unquote|<page-number>>

Does someone know how I should modify the macro so that the document displays
"3/5" instead of page 3 for example ?

Thank you very much for your help,
Nicolas.
