You have to put a label in the point where you want the link, then link to it with an hyperlink where the hyperlink address is the label name preceded by a #. Please ask if you cannot make it work, I can mke you an example. Slightly different from what you want (you do not link to a word, but next to it) but it could be ok.
I think Jeroen Wouters explained it to me but I do not find the message or forum post where he did. Here is a forum post on the topic of marking document parts (but does not contain the above instructions) http://forum.texmacs.cn/t/undocumented-internal-macros-in-texmacs-wiki/224

hi
i would like that when people click on a special word in my doc
say "hello this is a _TeXmacs_ doc" when they click on the word "TeXmacs" :
they be redirected to some explanation at the end of the document
well, i know how to make a \label inside the title of section where the explanation is
and a \ref near the word "Texmacs"
this \ref will display the number of the section and will be clickable
that's ok
but i would like to know if i can just make a sort of hyperlink on a word, pointing to an other word in the .tm doc
without any consideration of numbers
if in case there is still a means forthat i am interested
