I also have this problem since I upgraded to Sonoma (OS X 14.0 and now 14.1)

Deleting $HOME/.TeXmacs did not change anything.

As a workaround I use now Moga as does also Bimal Gaudel.

I had the same problem. Then I discovered Mogan: a different frontend for GNU/TeXmacs. Here is the link.  Hope it helps.
