Hello everyone,

I've tested the installation (with administrator privileges) on my Windows system (Windows 11 Professional) as follows :

1. Remove previous version of TeXmacs : first using the system "Uninstall" and then by removing the TeXmacs folder from Users/(name)/AppData/Roaming/... this last step was mandatory when changing previous versions.

2. Install the last version - this step works well.

Trying to open TeXmacs, I see the "blue circle" turning for a while (the system tries to do something) and then it stops... so I'm back to version 2.1.2. Any ideas ?

Best regards,

Alex

Hello everyone,

We have a new nightly build of TeXmacs for Windows and Mac available at: https://ftp.texmacs.org/TeXmacs/dev/testing/20241030/

What's new?

  • Improved High-DPI Support: TeXmacs now offers better high-DPI support. The entire interface and documents appear much sharper on high-DPI screens. You can move your TeXmacs windows across screens with different DPIs, and they will automatically adapt. (This also means that the Retina/high-DPI settings have been removed in this version).
  • Linux Compatibility: This improved high-DPI support is also coming to Linux, but for now, it’s only available on Wayland. I’ll publish a nightly Linux package soon.
  • TeXmacs can now be installed on Windows without administrator privileges. If you want to update an existing TeXmacs installation without administrator privileges, you'll first need to uninstall the previous version, as installing TeXmacs without administrator privileges changes the installation location.
  • Bug Fixes on Windows: We fixed issues related to opening links and previewing PDF files.
Your feedbacks are always welcome!

Best regards,
Liza
