One builds a free software tool, but then write a manual that constitutes
a betrayal of the very ethos that free software stands for.

The whole point of free software is freedom: freedom to use, modify,
and distribute. But when its manual is kept under restrictive licenses,
it's a cruel joke. If you're going to give something, do it properly!

The real problem lies in the system, the choices made, and the barriers
put in place. If anything, this argumentation shows that the need to
be right against the evidence is a powerful beast. It's why this debate
often goes sideways. It's not about improving the situation; it's about
defending a position at all costs.

It's my wish and my blessing that times like these, where academics get
tangled up in needless restrictions, would pass. The world of knowledge
should be about free collaboration, and progress, not about hoarding and
pointless bureaucracy.
