Hi,

I'm a beginner with both tools. I downloaded, compiled and installed both
yesterday on Mac OSX 10.2.6 without a single problem. Texmacs runs fine.
Maxima in Texmacs works fine too, except that I get the following for plots:

(C1) plot2d(sin(x), [x, 0, 2*%pi]);

/usr/local/libexec/maxima/5.9.0/omplotdata: exec: wish: not found
(D1) 127

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hi,

I am sorry for your choice but the Mac it is a bad choice for this porting.

I advice a Linux box. Also Linux for PowerPC is a better choice.

xmaxima uses Tcl/Tk. The graphical shell under Tcl is 'wish'.

If you want to continue with your porting on the Mac, you need to install Tcl/Tk.

Thanks,
Giovanni
