No, even when you correctly installed the basic fonts,
it may happen that some fonts are not or badly available.
Every time you load a document, TeXmacs would then attempt to
regenerate the missing font(s). This may take an awful lot of time.

Since the problem you encountered only happens when something
goes wrong with the installation, I will rather execute the above
commands when relaunching TeXmacs using the --setup option.

Andreas: can you please create a FAQ-entry for this issue?
If something goes wrong during installation, people should
retry with the --setup option.
