Hi all,

LiveTeXmacs-1.0.6.7, based on Knoppix-5.1, is released. It owns the following
features:

1. TeXmacs and CAS included, (Maxima-5.11.0, octave-2.1.73, M2, qcl,
gnuplot-4.2, R-2.4, Axiom etc), pk font added to accelerate TeXmacs running
speed;
2. Web application added: Apache-2.2, PHP-5.2, MySql-5.2, PostgreSQL-8.2.1,
WebMathInteractive(MWI), mediawiki-1.8.2 with math extensions (TeX, Maxima,
gnuplot, R etc), Ruby on Rails;

Different like other distros, LiveTexmacs almost setups the necessary
development environment and allows users to update softwares directly from
source, for example: update TeXmacs from TeXmacs-x.x.x.tar.gz. It size is
about 1G.

Test condition:

Although LiveTeXmacs is applied in iso format, it can also install on USB
stick!

Hardwares:
1. Transcend JetFlash 2G (USB-2.0);
2. Toshiba Laptop A100, Duo 1.66G CPU, 1.2G RAM

Test result:
Boot time about 1min and half, startup TeXmacs within 10 sec.

The left space of USB stick can be use to restore data. I think that it is
better than DVD version.

This version is built under the purpose of setup Math Resource web site
quickly.

Best regards,

cch

P.S.

If you want to make USB LiveTeXmacs, you can google the web or ask us.
