Assume that you have pressed shift-$ to go to mathmode and have typed a
mixture of text and formulas before leaving the math mode. Is there a easy
way to replace the text between the formulas with text that is outside the
mathmode (other then pressing alt-shift-$ and retyping the text).
The most straightforward way to go about this would probably be to
delete the math-mode annotation, then mark each individual formula with
a math mode.
1. Place your cursor inside the text which is in math mode, but outside
any other formatting which is in the math mode area.
2. Press C-Del (Delete while holding down Ctrl) to delete the math-mode
annotation. Your formulae will suddenly look ugly. Do not panic: we
are about to fix it.
4. Select your first formula.
5. Press Shift-$ to annotate this formula as mathematics. It should
look nice, once more.
6. Repeat 4,5 until all the individual formulae are formatted correctly
again.
I hope the question is clear, I have mixed a lot of text and formulas in
mathmode until I discovered that the layout is much better if only formulas
are in mathmode. So it would be a real bonus if there is a easy way of
solving this.
Likewise, I hope my answer is clear. :c) There may be an easier
solution, but this is the first that came to mind.
Thanks a lot in advance, and also thanks for the best math editor I have ever
encountered.
I can't take credit, but you have expressed your gratitude in the right
place.
