Hello,
I'd strongly vote for disabling the "smart" save that refuses to save
the document if Texmacs thinks nothing has changed. First, it often
gets this wrong, I had numerous occasions where I deleted some text
and saved, and Texmacs thought nothing changed and thus changes got
lost, the same goes for changing page settings, style etc. Second, the
user may have his own reasons for saving the file, e.g. setting a new
timestamp. I think this behavior is a bit too smart, and also
nonstandard.
I agree. I often end-up inserting and removing a space - so my save
shortcut SHOULD be ^S but is actually [space] [backspace] ^S
But you;ll have to file a bug on the Savannah pages at
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=texmacs
